MailsiteMailSite is a commercial email, calendar, contact, and collaboration server, with web-based client support, developed by Rockliffe Systems. MailSite was one of the first mail servers to run on Microsoft Windows NT using Internet Standards when version 1.2 was released in 1996. MailSite runs on a single Microsoft Windows Server or a cluster of Microsoft Windows Servers, and works natively with Microsoft Outlook versions 2007 to 2013 for mail, calendar and contacts without requiring any Outlook plug-ins. It also includes an Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) server for synchronizing mail, calendar and contacts with mobile devices, and also works with Internet Standards-based mail clients such as Mozilla Thunderbird. |
Our Role in the Project
At the time of this project, our CTO - Chuck Berg - was employed by Rockliffe Systems as their VP of Engineering. His biggest challenge was managing a distributed development
team in three different time zones (Pacific, Mountain, and GMT), four different countries (US, Canada, England, and Scotland), and five different offices (San Jose, Calgary,
Edinburgh, London, and Leeds). In addition, he worked directly with engineers at Compaq Computer Corporation on a joint project to develop an email repository on the NonStop®
platform.

Project Status
The project with Compaq was terminated shortly after it was purchased by HP. Mailsite continues in development at Rockliffe. CRB Consulting is not involved in any
current development.
